Boarding Process and Medical Emergency
When we boarded the Disney Dream cruise in Miami, we encountered a bit of a medical emergency. Poor David had some dental drama earlier in the day, but we didn’t let that dampen our spirits. Despite the unexpected start, we were excited to discover that our voyage featured Marvel Day at Sea. From the moment we stepped foot on the ship, we were greeted with an abundance of Marvel characters, new movie debuts, special events, and even a magnificent fireworks show that illuminated the night sky. It truly was a dream come true to be part of such an incredible experience.
Marvel Day at Sea
Marvel Day at Sea was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our Disney Dream cruise. We were thrilled to encounter various Marvel characters throughout the day, from Spider-Man swinging through the ship’s corridors to Captain America making appearances on the deck. The excitement was palpable as we eagerly awaited the debut of new Marvel movies onboard the ship. We also had the opportunity to participate in special events and activities centered around our favorite superheroes. The grand finale of the day was a breathtaking fireworks show that left us in awe of the magic Disney brings to life.
Cabin Tour and Amenities
Our cabin on the Disney Dream was truly a home away from home. One outstanding feature was the split bathrooms, which provided convenience and comfort for both of us. With one bathroom dedicated solely to the toilet and another for showering and getting ready, we never had to worry about waiting for one another. The amenities in the cabin were top-notch, with luxurious toiletries and soft, plush towels. We were also impressed by the size of the balcony, which offered breathtaking views of the ocean and a perfect spot for relaxation and reflection.
Gold Members of Castaway Club
As gold members of the Castaway Club, we enjoyed a range of perks and experiences exclusive to this elite group. From early access to onboard activities and shows to priority dining reservations, we truly felt like VIPs throughout our Disney Dream cruise. The Castaway Club also provided us with additional benefits, such as special gifts and discounts on merchandise. Muster Drill and Sail Away Party
Before setting sail, we participated in a muster drill, a mandatory safety briefing that all guests must attend. While this may seem like a tedious process, it is an essential part of ensuring the safety of everyone onboard. After the muster drill, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement as we joined the sail away party. The atmosphere was electric as music played, confetti filled the air, and fellow cruisers waved goodbye to Miami. It truly marked the beginning of our magical journey.
Packing Tips and Hand Luggage Suggestions
When preparing for a Disney cruise, it’s important to pack strategically to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip. As for hand luggage, we suggest packing essential items such as identification documents, medication, and any necessary electronics. It’s also a good idea to bring a change of clothes and swimwear in case your luggage is not available immediately upon boarding. Additionally, consider packing a first aid kit, as it can come in handy for minor ailments or injuries. Don’t forget to bring a small fan to keep cool in the tropical heat and power adapters to charge your devices. Lastly, Ziploc bags can be useful for organizing and storing items throughout your trip.
Breakfast at the Royal Palace
One of the highlights of our dining experience on the Disney Dream was breakfast at the Royal Palace restaurant. The ambiance was fit for royalty with elegant decor and a regal atmosphere. We were delighted to indulge in a delectable breakfast spread that included a variety of options to suit every taste. As Marvel enthusiasts, we were excited to learn that the Royal Palace restaurant also hosted meet and greets with Marvel characters during breakfast, making it a truly magical way to start our day.
Dining Experience at Fancy Restaurant
Another memorable dining experience we had on the Disney Dream was at a fancy restaurant onboard. As we sat down for breakfast, we were excited to try some of the exquisite dishes prepared by the talented chefs. One member of our group was on a baby food diet, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate their needs. We were extremely impressed with the food and service, as each dish was presented beautifully and tasted even better. Some dishes that stood out for us were the oatmeal, melon boat, omelette, and scrambled eggs, all of which were cooked to perfection.
Marvel-Themed Day at Sea
The Marvel-themed day at sea was an absolute blast. From early morning until late evening, there were activities and character meet and greets taking place all around the ship. One highlight for us was participating in the Toddler Dash, a race for babies that was equal parts hilarious and adorable. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch at a buffet that offered an array of Marvel-themed desserts, making it a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. Throughout the day, there were opportunities to draw Spider-Man, watch live-action shows, and catch movies like “Ant-Man and The Wasp,” creating a truly immersive Marvel experience.
Fireworks Show and Conclusion
As the day drew to a close, we eagerly anticipated the fireworks show scheduled for later in the evening. To ensure a good view, we arrived early and secured a prime spot on the deck. The show, titled “Heroes Unite,” was a spectacle of epic proportions. With flying characters, dazzling special effects, and a beautiful display of fireworks, it was an unforgettable experience. We were in awe of the magic and excitement Disney brought to life. As the night grew late and we felt the effects of jet lag, we decided to turn in for the night. We were greeted with a cute towel animal and appreciated the turn-down service provided by the Disney cruise staff.
